Some inventions come from labs, others from late-night brainstorming sessions. But the Ab Slider? That came straight from Torrey Vaughns’ gut—literally.

A lifelong fitness enthusiast and U.S. Marine Corps veteran from Sioux City, Iowa, Torrey was in the gym one night, grinding through a lower ab workout, when inspiration struck: Why isn’t there a machine that specifically targets the lower abs—without straining the spine or relying on upper body strength?

Instead of just wondering, he took action. He sketched out a design, took it to a local steel company, and built a prototype. But how to get it to the masses?

It wasn’t an overnight success—11 years of persistence, setbacks, and chasing the right partners—but he never gave up. Then one day, he found BodyKore on Facebook, connected with Leo Chang, and finally, his vision found a home.

Why the Ab Slider?

Unlike the Roman chair, which can cause discomfort and rely on upper body strength, the Ab Slider places you in a reclined position for a safer, more controlled lower ab workout. The weighted sliding carriage allows for smooth resistance, maximizing core engagement without straining the lower back.

How It Works

  • Sit back on the incline bench, feet between the pads.

  • Bend your knees and pull them toward your body.

  • Pause for 10 seconds at the top, engaging the lower abs.

  • Slowly return to starting position.

  • Repeat for 3 sets.

It’s not just a core workout—it also activates the hip flexors and even works the quads. Plus, it’s safer and more comfortable than hanging knee raises or mountain climbers.

Now, thanks to BodyKore, Torrey is bringing the Ab Slider to the world, showcasing it at fitness expos, including the HFA in Las Vegas this week. From an idea on a scrap of paper to a game-changing piece of gym equipment, his journey proves one thing: never stop believing in your vision.

Want to feel the burn and take your core training to the next level? The Ab Slider is ready. Are you?
