Team BodyKore Welcomes TaeKwonDo/Muay Thai Specialist Rachel Celebrado to the Team

Born in Honolulu, Hawai’i, Rachel Ann Michiyo Celebrado has been studying the art of Tae Kwon do since the age of 4 years old.  At age 11, Rachel earned her black belt through the International Tae Kwon Do Council.  She’s competed in numerous competitions in California and Nevada and has also been apart of the Tae Kwon Do demonstration team throughout grade school and college.  She’s currently holds a second degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do.

Rachel has been training in Muay Thai at Muay Thai Lao Kickboxing Academy since last summer.  Although the styles of Tae Kwon Do and Muay Thai are very different, she’s able to use her Tae Kwon Do background for effective striking and balance.   She currently trains about 5 times a week and also includes a workout regime of 2 class sessions, as well as circuit   training.  She is scheduled to fight her first match in summer of 2010.

In addition, Rachel recently graduated from Sac State with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resouces Management.   She works full-time for the State Water Resouces Control Board in Human Resources.   One of her favorite hobbies dancing hula for Halau Ka Waikahe Lani Malie.
