StrikeForce LA took place a few nights ago at the Nokia Theater located in the heart of Downtown LA. It was an exciting event with 6 bouts on the card. The main event saw former Elite XC middleweight champion “Ruthless” Robbie Lawler take on former UFC light heavyweight star Renato “Babalu” Sobral in a catchweight bout. Sobral took home the unanimous decision and was given a title shot for the light-heavy weight championship. Problem is the current champion “King Mo” Lawal is a friend and training partner of Babalu and fighting a friend is against his wishes. The co-main event featured the Dream welterweight champion Marius Zaramoskis as he battled ex-Pride stand out Evangelista “Cyborg” Santos. Zaramoskis came out with his lightning quick strikes and kicks but Cyborg proved too powerful for him by brutally knocking him out at the 2:38 mark of the first round.

Full Results:

  • Renato “Babalu” Sobral def. Robbie Lawler via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28)
  • Evangelista “Cyborg” Santos def. Marius Zaramoskis via TKO (strikes) – Round 1, 2:38
